A Bible Study on Covenant

To understand the Holy One of Israel, we must understand Covenant.

This brief outline has been prepared to assist you in a Bible Study that will enrich

your relationship with Hashem.

1. What is Covenant?

Biblically defined, a covenant is a binding agreement between two parties which cannot be broken.

2. What was the covenant G-d made with Noah?

Read and study Genesis 6,7,8,9

3. What was the covenant G-d made with Abraham?

Read and study Genesis 12, 15, 17

4. What was the Covenant with Moses?

Read and study Exodus 6, 19, 24, 34, 35

5. What was the Covenant with David?

Read and study II Samuel 7 and Psalm 89

6. What are the terms of the 'new covenant' promised in Jeremiah?

Read and study Jeremiah 31:31-34 and answer the questions

* to whom is this 'new covenant' promised?

*list ALL of the conditions that will demonstrate that the 'new covenant' is in effect

*are they ALL present today?

*if the 'new covenant' provides for the writing of the Torah on the heart,

how then can anyone suggest that the Torah 'has been done away with'?

*If all the provisions of Jeremiah's prophesied covenant have not yet been met,

must we not conclude that we still await the 'new covenant'?

7. Based on this study, can you trust the Holy One of Israel unequivocally?

There is only one answer:  A RESOUNDING YES!
